There are plenty of things to collect in Jazz Jackrabbit 2. If you collect points by killing enemies or destroying items, then you earn a "Sugar Rush," which makes you temporarily invincible. His siblings also play a role at later stages in the game, a little like the Sonic and Tails games on the Sega. It is a side-scrolling platform game where you are a rabbit that has to blast his way through a series of increasingly difficult enemies. It is a side-scrolling shooter like Earthworm Jim, but without the digging mechanic, and it even has turtles to destroy like the Mario games of its era.
The set designs are reminiscent of Lemmings, and it is fast paced like Sonic the Hedgehog.
The game feels like a mix of the most popular games of its era. Very polished and graphically pleasing for its time It is often likened to the EarthWorm Jim games that were a big hit on consoles at the time. It has a very distinct 90s charm, right down to the graphics, gameplay and music. It was special at the time because few side-scrolling platform games were built for the PC in the 90s, since most developers built them for consoles. In multiplayer mode, the players are provided the option to choose from five modes namely, cooperative where players play together and not against each other, Battle, Race, Treasure hunt and the final one Capture the Flag.Jazz Jackrabbit 2 was created by Epic Games and released for the PC in 1998. Along the game, the player is provided with special powerups like extra life, diamonds (to get one more extra life), carrots to boost their energy and rapid fire to time lapse the effect of gunshots, etc. The player can choose from amongst 3 players Jazz, spaz, and Lori (Jazz’s brother and sister). It involves a series of shooting and platforming to get through the blocks laid across them. In Jazz Jackrabbit 2, players are plotted against enemies and has to go through various levels. Jazz chases his archrival Devan Shell to get back the ring. The game starts with Jazz’s ring getting stolen which he wishes to gift Eva on their wedding. What would you do if your fiance’s ring is stolen and you want to gift it to her on your wedding? Well, Chase for it, right? This game is based on exactly this concept. Unlike its prequel, this present version has a number of new features added like to play the game over LAN and internet and multiplayer game option, to mention a few. Produced by Epic Games, it was released in 1998 starting first for Pc and window version and later upgrading it for Mac computers.
Released almost 2 decades ago, Jazz Jackrabbit 2 has still hasn’t lost its essence of hooking the players to the game.
